Position: Senior Technical Services Specialist, Yankee Diagnostics
Duties: Responsible for measuring the Yankee Dryer and associated equipment performance with the aim to supply a complete technical assessment to the customer. Apply various measuring techniques, including the use of OTR (On-The-Run) Yankee topographical and infrared mapping of dryer surfaces and infrared measurements of the paper reel. Carry out calibrated press roll loading measurements, Yankee integrity inspections, and steam system assessments. Apply the required techniques for monitoring, measuring, solving, and restoring any condition divergences in Yankee tissue machines. Ensure that the machine is operated in the optimal economic area, keeping in mind shell wall thickness and steam pressure safety rules applied by US governing bodies such as NBIC. Ensure the safe operation and reliability of tissue mills’ Yankee Dryers, in compliance with company and local jurisdictional safety requirements.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field. 5 years of experience in job offered or paper technology. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, employer will accept vocational training in Engineering or related field and 7 years of experience in job offered or paper technology. Any amount of experience in the additional requirements below will be acceptable unless specific amount is noted. Additional requirements: Prior academic background or work experience to include: 1) Hands-on technical experience with Yankee Dryers in tissue mills. 2) Experience with the maintenance, testing, and data collection on Yankee Dryers. 3) Experience with NDT and condition monitoring techniques, including infrared diagnostics, machine vibration data collection, and analysis. Level2 NDE inspector. 4) Experience with required techniques for monitoring, measuring, problem solving, and restoring any condition divergences in Yankee tissue machines.
Job Location: Vancouver, Washington. Up to 60% travel required – employer will reimburse all business-related travel expenses.
