Position: Service Specialist, Yankee Dryer Systems
The Service Specialist for Jaeger Inc. is a full time position working under the direction of the Operational Manager. The Service Specialist responsibilities include providing general machining, grinding and thermal spray repair services for machine components, according to layouts, blueprints, work orders or specifications provided by the Project Engineer.
Major Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
1.) Grinds, Thermal Spray, machine components using portable equipment and tools.
2.) Complete job performance forms accurately before, during and after the job.
3.) Complete timely reports on materials usage on specific job.
4.) Performs job preparation and restoration duties, including inventory of machinery, parts, supplies and consumable items required for the project.
5.) Performs maintenance of the equipment in the field or in the shop, as required or directed by the Field Service Engineer.
6.) Installs and dismantles the portable equipment as required.
7.) Completes travel expense reports, time reports, job report forms and/or logs.
8.) Assume responsibilities of any or all jobs qualified to perform .
9.) Clean work area during shift when in the field or working in the shop.
10.) Other Duties as assigned.
11.) Uses electric or air power tools, such as impact wrenches, disc grinders, drills, etc. when performing regular duties of job.
12.) Look for improvements in process and provide information to supervisor.

1.) Proficient in use of computers utilizing Windows based programs.
2.) Basic knowledge of overall pulp & paper operations and related equipment, plus specific related area of expertise.
3.) Excellent customer relations skills
4.) Effective use of professional sales techniques.
5.) Ability to operate independently of daily direction, i.e. "sees what needs to be done and gets it done".
6.) Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and demands, makes things happen, gets results
7.) Good troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
1.) Requires occasional use of personal or company provided vehicle.
2.) Travel requires insurability and drivers license.
3.) Requires periods of sedentary, indoor work.
4.) Requires ability to work under stressful conditions.
5.) Requires flexibility to work as needed to complete all tasks. Invites occasional long hours, weekend work, and precipitous changes of schedule to meet customer and company needs.
6.) Significant travel, Domestic as well as Central and South America can be required.
Job Location: Vancouver, Washington. Up to 60% travel required – employer will reimburse all business-related travel expenses.
